Executive Director

Stacy Garrett

Being the Executive Director of Miller Home has provided me many opportunities to work alongside girls that need assistance with decision making, academics, personal growth and strengthen the family bond. When I walk through the doors of Miller Home, I am totally focused on Miller Home and what needs to be done that day. I am blessed to work with many wonderful people who share a piece of their life with me and give me the opportunity to witness their successes.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher since the fourth grade. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Longwood College and later earned a Master’s in Administration and Supervision. Before entering Residential Care, I taught kindergarten and first grade for eleven years. I am no longer teaching in a classroom setting, but I continue to care and teach children and young adults. Growing up with a dad in the U.S. Army and moving every three years enabled me to travel the world. It was a great experience and taught my family the importance of “home is where you are.”  Meeting new people, trying new foods, and visiting new areas are still exciting to me today. Family time is very important to me. We spend a lot of time together experiencing new adventures, enjoying outside activities, supporting one another, and spoiling our yorkies. I love living life!

I have 12 pairs of cowboy boots and way too many shoes to count.  The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single trip to the shoe store!
