Volunteers help us make a difference in the life of each girl who calls Miller Home, their home.

We pride ourselves on working with volunteers to establish a volunteer experience that utilizes the volunteer’s interests, strengths, and abilities while meeting the needs of Miller Home and our residents. Please be aware that any volunteer activity that would include interaction with a resident without Miller Home supervision would require a background check that would cost the volunteer $49.00.

Volunteer Groups

Miller Home for Girls has been impacted by the long and short term efforts of volunteer groups in the community. These groups have taken on house projects, yard work, coordinating fundraisers, collecting items for a donation drive and other projects to support Miller Home. Contact us if your coworkers, networking team, church group, club members, or just a group of friends would be interested in taking on a project for Miller Home.

Event Volunteers

Miller Home for Girls hosts fundraising events throughout the year such as the Golf Classic and Acoustic Concert that require volunteer involvement prior to the event as well as on the day of the event. If you or your group are interested in becoming an event volunteer contact us and follow us on social media where we will post our most up to date event information.

Internships and Program Volunteers (background check required)

Miller Home for Girls considers dedicated and reliable interns and volunteers to be a complement to our program. Opportunities are flexible and allow volunteers to gain experience in social work, counseling, psychology, education, and other human services fields.

Volunteers support our staff as they carry out the day-to-day operations of managing the Miller Home household by:

  • Assisting Miller Home staff with administrative duties during office hours.

  • Assisting Child Care Workers with supervision (includes evening and weekend opportunities).

  • Providing academic support through tutoring during study hall.

  • Planning recreational activities.

  • Mentoring residents through intentional relationship building and quality time.

Additional internship and volunteer areas include communications, fundraising, social media, and additional administrative opportunities also vital to the success of Miller Home. Contact us to learn more about these opportunities.
