Child Care Worker
Position Summary
Miller Home is seeking compassionate and dependable Child Care Workers to join our team in creating a safe, nurturing, and home-like environment for the girls in our care. Child Care Workers play a vital role in supporting residents’ emotional, social, and personal growth by providing consistent care, guidance, and positive role modeling.
This position offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships, make a lasting impact, and support each girl as she develops life skills, confidence, and resilience within a loving, non-institutional setting aligned with the Miller Home Program.
Please note: This role requires overnight shifts at Miller Home.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily care, supervision, and emotional support to residents
Foster a warm, structured, and supportive home environment
Encourage positive behavior, healthy routines, and personal growth
Prepare meals and assist with household responsibilities
Serve as a positive role model and trusted adult presence
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field preferred
Experience caring for children and working collaboratively with others
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license
Ability to plan and prepare meals

Intern
Position Summary: Interns work directly with Miller Home residents in a capacity that benefits Miller Home residents and is approved by the Executive Director or Program Director. Interns may be with residents without staff supervision including outings away from Miller Home.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Must pass all required background checks.
Must be knowledgeable about youth and able to interact with them in a positive manner.
Must demonstrate a high level of maturity and a desire to work with youth.
Must complete the Miller Home Volunteer Orientation prior to working with residents including volunteer hours that are supervised by staff unless the volunteer is also a board member of Miller Home.
Responsibilities:
Interns must comply with any agreed upon arrangements such as dates and times the volunteer will work and their specific duties including the resident remaining under their direct supervision at all times.
Interns must exhibit a positive attitude and exhibit appropriate behavior while volunteering as they are a role model for residents.
Interns must support the Miller Home Program and Policies and staff.
Interns must report any significant issues or events that occur while with a resident and maintain contact with the Program Director.
